High-Performance Methyl Phenyl Vinyl Silicone Rubber IOTA 3120 for Extreme Conditions
Overview:
Methyl Phenyl Vinyl Silicone Rubber IOTA 3120 is a premium-grade silicone rubber featuring a high phenyl group content. This advanced material combines the exceptional heat resistance and electrical insulation properties of conventional methyl vinyl silicone rubber with superior radiation resistance, ablation resistance, mechanical strength, and low-temperature flexibility. It remains insoluble in water but soluble in toluene, offering minimal compression deformation and excellent resistance to saturated steam pressure.
Key Advantages:
Outstanding flexibility at temperatures as low as -110°C, making it ideal for ultra-low-temperature applications.
Long-term storage stability with consistent performance over time.
Excellent damping properties and superior radiation resistance.
High thermal stability, low volatility, and odor-free characteristics.
Applications:
IOTA 3120 is widely used in demanding industries such as aerospace, electronics, machinery, and chemical processing. It serves as a critical material for manufacturing low-temperature seals, waterproof insulation, and radiation-resistant components. Its biocompatibility also makes it suitable for medical applications, including blood storage seals and medical tubing.
Technical Specifications:
Appearance: Colorless
Phenyl Content (Ph/Si): 5-40%
Molecular Weight (Mw): 400,000-800,000
Specific Gravity (25°C): 0.99-1.05
Volatile Content (150°C/3h): ≤2%
Performance Highlights:
Vinyl Content: Higher vinyl content enhances crosslinking, improving hardness and tensile strength while reducing elongation and compression set.
Vinyl Distribution: Uniform side-chain vinyl distribution ensures better crosslinking density and elasticity.
Phenyl Content: Low phenyl content optimizes low-temperature performance, medium phenyl enhances damping, and high phenyl boosts radiation resistance.
Packaging & Storage:
25 kg cardboard boxes (lined with plastic bags). Store in unopened original packaging below 40°C for up to 24 months from production.
