IOTA-8207* Series – High-Performance Arylalkyl Silicone Oil for Lubrication & Release Applications
The IOTA-8207* Series (including IOTA-8207A, 8207H, and 8207G) from IOTA Corporation is a premium range of long-chain arylalkyl polysiloxanes. These light amber, transparent fluids are specifically designed to deliver outstanding performance in demanding lubrication, release, and surface compatibility applications.
With viscosity ranges from 1000 to 2100 mm²/s at 25°C and a specific gravity of 0.89–0.95, the IOTA-8207* Series ensures consistent stability in various formulations. The low volatiles content (≤1% at 150°C/3h) and refractive indices between 1.462 and 1.480 contribute to reliable processing and application results.
One of the key advantages of this series is its excellent lubricity. It performs well in challenging metal-on-metal interfaces, including stainless steel and titanium steel lubrication, without requiring additional boundary lubricants. It also improves the boundary lubricity of plastic products when used as an additive, and serves as an ideal base oil for lubricating greases.
In release agent formulations, IOTA-8207* offers superior performance while maintaining the product surface’s ability to be printed, painted, or stamped – a critical feature for post-processing operations.
These silicone oils are also effective as hydrophobing agents. They help reduce the pour point of crude oil and improve the impact strength of polypropylene. For fiber and yarn applications, selected grades can be blended with paraffin and used as processing aids in melt spinning.
IOTA-8207* Series is packaged in 180 kg plastic drums and should be stored in a cool, dry place. The shelf life is 2 years under proper storage conditions.
