Reliable Protection for Sensitive Electronics – IOTA GNJ 3128H Phenyl Silicone Gel
Modern electronic components require more than just basic encapsulation. They need consistent protection against moisture, mechanical stress, and temperature extremes. IOTA GNJ 3128H is a two-part addition-cure phenyl silicone gel developed for applications such as transistor and integrated circuit coating, optical instrument bonding, and moisture-resistant sealing.
This product offers a straightforward 1:1 mixing ratio by weight. At 22°C and 50% RH, both A and B components show a viscosity of 600±200 cP. After mixing, the working time is up to 240 minutes, allowing for flexible processing. Curing at room temperature takes about 24 hours, while heating can significantly shorten the cycle and improve adhesion to various substrates.
Once cured, IOTA GNJ 3128H exhibits a Shore A00 hardness of 25±5 and a density of 0.98 g/ml. Light transmission reaches ≥93%, making it suitable for optical paths. The volume resistivity exceeds 1.0×10¹⁴ Ω·cm, supporting reliable insulation performance.
The gel maintains elasticity over a wide temperature range from -59°C to 200°C. It does not release byproducts during curing, contains low volatiles, and supports deep-section curing. No solvents are present. The material also resists yellowing under long-term exposure and supports easy rework if needed.
For best results, surfaces should be clean and dry before application. Vacuum degassing after mixing is suggested. Avoid contact with N, P, S organic compounds or ions of Sn, Pb, Hg, As, as they may interfere with curing. Store in sealed containers under dry, ventilated conditions. Shelf life is 6 months.
