Engineered for the Extreme Cold – IOTA 3110-E Ethyl Silicone Rubber
When temperatures drop to levels that cripple conventional elastomers, the IOTA 3110-E Ethyl Silicone Rubber delivers unmatched reliability. Designed with ethyl groups integrated into the polydimethylsiloxane backbone, this specialty silicone rubber disrupts crystallization even under extreme freezing conditions. Its glass transition temperature reaches as low as -147°C, making it one of the most cold-resistant rubber materials available for critical applications.
Ideal for deep-cryogenic equipment, high-altitude and polar-region systems, aerospace components, and deep-sea exploration devices, IOTA 3110-E ensures flexibility and sealing performance where standard silicone or organic rubbers turn brittle and fail.
The product line offers three grades: IOTA 3110-E-1, E-2, and E-3, with ethyl content ranging from 20 mol% to 50 mol%. Depending on the grade, molecular weight varies between 500,000 and 1,000,000, with vinyl content precisely adjusted from 0.07 mol% to 0.8 mol% to support crosslinking and cure system design. Volatile matter is kept at or below 3%, ensuring process stability.
Beyond low-temperature endurance, this material also provides consistent elastic modulus and stable damping factor across a wide temperature range. These properties make it a strategic raw material for vibration-damping components in precision electronic devices and mission-critical mechanical systems.
Packaged in 20 kg cartons, IOTA 3110-E can be stored at room temperature in dry conditions for up to 36 months. Whether you are designing for polar exploration or sub-zero industrial environments, this ethyl silicone rubber offers a reliable path forward.
