From Compression Mold to Final Part – The IOTA-HTV 330 Workflow Advantage
Molding thermal silicone parts can be challenging. Viscosity shifts, scorch risks, and inconsistent cure are common headaches. The IOTA-HTV 330 series was developed with processing stability as a core priority, ensuring that your compression molding line runs smoothly, shift after shift.
Thanks to its DBPMH-based vulcanization system, this material offers a broad processing window and excellent scorch safety. The recommended cure condition—1% curing agent (50% DBPMH paste), 175°C, 5 minutes, 15 MPa—is easy to implement and repeatable across different press types. This reduces setup time and minimizes scrap rates, directly improving your manufacturing yield.
The series also excels in mold flow and release characteristics. With Williams plasticity values clearly specified for each grade (from 30 to 79), mold designers can predict fill patterns and optimize runner designs with confidence. The result? Complex shapes, thin-wall sections, and large-area pads can be molded with fewer defects.
Mechanical reliability is another hidden advantage. Tear strength remains stable at 0.8–0.9 MPa across all grades, while tensile strength ensures that demolding forces won't damage fragile features. This combination of processability and post-cure robustness makes the HTV 330 series ideal for both prototype development and mass production.
Additionally, the material’s shelf life and storage requirements are straightforward—keep it cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight. If stored beyond three months, a simple remilling step restores processability, giving you flexibility in inventory management.
For production engineers, the IOTA-HTV 330 series isn’t just a compound; it’s a predictable, controllable, and forgiving partner on the factory floor.
