Methyl silicone oil is one of the earliest commercialized, most widely used and most commonly used silicone polymers. The production methods of methyl silicone oil mainly include acid balance method and alkali balance method. The acid balance method is suitable for the production of low-viscosity silicone oil with a viscosity below 500mm2/s. This method generally uses concentrated sulfuric acid as a catalyst and reacts at 50-60°C, then washes with water to remove acid, removes low boiling substances, adds activated carbon for decolorization, and transitions to obtain finished products ; while the alkali balance method is suitable for the production of medium and high viscosity silicone oil with a viscosity above 100mm2/s. In the production of methyl silicone oil, each component in the raw material DMC (dimethyl mixed ring body) will reach the best activation state at different temperatures, and the ring-opening polymerization will increase the conversion rate and greatly improve the production efficiency. .


     After the ring-opening polymerization reaction is completed, the catalyst (CH3)4NOH is difficult to fully decompose during the medium breaking process; and a small amount of decomposed ammonia gas is also miscible in the system, resulting in a peculiar smell of silicone oil. After the system is lowered, the temperature is lowered to below 140 ° C, and the method of bubbling dry air is adopted to increase the gas phase pressure of the system, so as to achieve the purpose of discharging pungent odor.


     Using program temperature control method between 90~120°C and cooling down to 140°C and bubbling with dry air after de-lowering, colorless, odorless and qualified methyl silicone oil can be obtained, and the average conversion rate is increased from 65%. It has reached more than 80%.
