Silicone oil usually refers to a linear polysiloxane product that maintains a liquid state at room temperature. The structural formula is as follows: In the formula, R is an alkyl group or an aryl group, and R' is an alkyl group, an aryl group, hydrogen, a carbon functional group, and a polyether chain, etc. ; X is alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, hydrogen, hydroxyl, alkoxy, acetoxy, chlorine v, carbon functional group and polyether chain, etc.; n, m=0, 1, 2, 3...
The most commonly used silicone oil, the organic groups are all methyl, called methyl silicone oil. The organic group can also use other organic groups to replace part of the methyl group, so as to improve certain properties of silicone oil and apply to various purposes. Common other groups include hydrogen, ethyl, phenyl, chlorophenyl, trifluoropropyl, and the like. In recent years, organo-modified silicone oils have developed rapidly, and many organo-modified silicone oils with special properties have emerged.
According to the chemical structure, silicone oil can be divided into methyl silicone oil, ethyl silicone oil, phenyl silicone oil, methyl hydrogen-containing silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil, methyl chlorophenyl silicone oil, methyl ethoxy silicone oil, methyl trifluoropropane Base silicone oil, methyl vinyl silicone oil, methyl hydroxy silicone oil, ethyl hydrogen silicone oil, hydroxyl hydrogen silicone oil, cyanide silicone oil, etc.; in terms of application, there are damping silicone oil, diffusion pump silicone oil, hydraulic oil, insulating oil, Heat transfer oil, brake fluid, etc.

(1) Amino modified silicone oil
Amino-modified silicone oil is a polydimethylsiloxane containing amino groups in the side chain or end group, also known as amino silicone oil. This type of silicone oil is the basic ingredient specially used in textile softening and finishing agents. Due to its good adsorption and compatibility, when the amino silicone oil is emulsified into a microemulsion by an appropriate surfactant, it can increase the softness of the fiber material when used in fabric finishing, so it is used as a fabric softening agent, suitable for After finishing various textiles, amino silicone oil can also be used in the fields of cosmetic additives, coating additives, resin modifiers and brighteners.
(2) Epoxy modified silicone oil
A type of silicone oil containing epoxy groups in the side chain or end group of polydimethylsiloxane is called epoxy-modified silicone oil. The use of this type of modified silicone oil can improve the elasticity of the fabric. If this type of silicone oil is used in conjunction with polyether modified silicone oil, the finished fabric will have better softness, wrinkle resistance, and washability. It is formulated with amino-modified silicone oil. Using it can make the fabric have a better hand feeling.
(3) Polyether modified silicone oil
Polydimethylsiloxanes containing polyether groups (polyoxyethylene groups, polyoxypropylene groups, fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene ether groups) in side chains or end groups are called polyether-modified silicone oils. It can improve the moisture absorption performance of fabric finishing. Due to the hydrophilicity of the polyether group, the hydrophilicity of the polyether silicone oil increases, and there are both hydrophobic groups and hydrophilic groups in the molecule, so that this type of silicone oil shows good water solubility, and it is not easy to use during use. There will be problems such as demulsification and oil floating. Secondly, the introduction of polyether group also increases the hygroscopicity, antistatic property and easy decontamination of the finished fiber or fabric, so polyether silicone oil is widely used in clothing softeners, cosmetics and shampoo products. Another main use of polyether silicone oil is as a stabilizer for polyurethane foam as a surfactant, also known as a foam stabilizer, to adjust the bubble drop of polyurethane foam. Polyether silicone oil is a kind of active silicone softener with the largest amount and the best effect before the development of amino silicone oil softener.
(4) Shuttle-based modified silicone oil
The polydimethylsiloxane containing shuttle group in the side chain or end group is called shuttle group modified silicone oil. Such modified silicone oils can be used in fiber treatment agents, car polishes, paint additives, etc. Shuttle-based modified silicone oil and amino silicone oil are used together to increase durability when used in fiber treatment, and it is not easy to fall off when washing.
(5) Alcohol hydroxyl modified silicone oil
Polydimethylsiloxanes that are capped with alcohol radicals or contain alcohol radicals in the main chain are called alcohol hydroxyl modified silicone oils. Due to the reactivity of the hydroxyl group at the end of the molecular main chain or between the molecular chains, it can be cross-linked by heat. This type of silicone oil can be used as a structure control agent in the processing of silicone rubber, and can also be used for anti-blooming treatment such as paper. Alcohol modified silicone oil replaces part of ethylene glycol for copolymerization, which can improve the resilience, softness, tear strength, wear resistance, heat resistance and other properties of polyester fiber and film, and can also improve polyurethane formability.
(6) Phenol hydroxyl modified silicone oil
Polydimethylsiloxane with phenolic hydroxyl group-terminated or with phenolic hydroxyl group in the main chain belongs to phenolic hydroxyl group-modified silicone oil. The phenol group in this kind of modified silicone oil molecule has high reactivity and heat resistance, so its emulsion has good stability and wide applicability. If the amino-modified silicone oil is mixed with the phenol-modified silicone oil, it can be compounded into an oil agent for synthetic fibers with very good heat resistance and mold release.
(7) Mercapto-modified silicone oil
Polydimethylsiloxanes containing mercapto groups in side chains or end groups are called mercapto-modified silicone oils. The mercapto groups in the molecule can combine with silicones containing unsaturated bonds under the action of ultraviolet rays and photopolymerization initiators. The compound undergoes a free radical addition reaction. This type of silicone oil is the main component of ultraviolet and electron beam curing silicone resin rubber, which is widely used in anti-sticking barrier coatings and can also be used as a release agent.
(8) Other modified silicone oils
In addition to the above-mentioned modified silicone oils, there are many other types of silicone oils, such as polydiorganosiloxane-polyether block copolymerized modified silicone oils, alkyl and polyether co-modified silicone oils, alkyl ether polyether silicone oils, cyclo Oxygen polyether silicone oil, amino polyether block silicone oil, _glyceryl ether-based silicone oil, phosphate acyl silicone oil, glycosyl polyether silicone oil, betaine-based silicone oil, etc. These silicone oils have different functional groups, so they have special properties, but due to less demand, the market share is small.
