Since vinyl silicone oil is a colorless and transparent liquid, people will mistakenly think that vinyl silicone oil belongs to liquid silicone. In fact, it is not. Silicone oil does not belong to liquid silicone, but vinyl silicone oil is indeed a good helper for liquid silicone. There are mainly vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (Vi-PDMS) and vinyl-terminated polymethylvinylsiloxane (Vi-PMVS).

Super special vinyl silicon is an excellent and active intermediate material, and is the main raw material for precision, high tear-resistant mold adhesives, high-grade electronic potting adhesives, high-temperature resistant adhesives, and inks. In addition to the general properties of methyl silicone oil (such as smoothness, softness, brightness, temperature and weather resistance, etc.), this product also has the following unique properties:

1. The vinyl groups at both ends have strong reactivity and can react quickly with hydrogen-containing silicone oil (under the action of a catalyst); they can also participate in various other reactions.

2. It has better compatibility with organic materials than methyl silicone oil, and is easier to be compatible with other organic materials.

3. Because it contains active double bonds, it is easy to react with various organic materials such as polyurethane and acrylic acid.

The difference between vinyl silicone oil and liquid silicone:

1. The vinyl content is too low, the cross-linking density of silicone rubber is small, the hardness is low, and the tear strength is low;

2. If the vinyl content is too high, the hardness of the vulcanized rubber will increase and become brittle, and the aging resistance will decrease. Vinyl silicone oil with a small molar mass can reduce the viscosity of the rubber compound, improve the fluidity, and increase the crosslinking density of the silicone rubber to a certain extent, so that it has a certain tensile strength and hardness.

Vinyl silicone oil with large molar mass can improve the elasticity and elongation at break of silicone rubber, and vinyl silicone oil with wide molar mass distribution can obtain silicone rubber with excellent performance. And in vinyl silicone oil, the effect of terminal vinyl group and side vinyl group on the performance of LSR is also different. When vinyl silicone oil has terminal vinyl group, it will be accompanied by the growth of molecular chain during crosslinking, and the tear resistance of silicone rubber will be improved. At the same time, when it contains side vinyl group, the crosslinking process will not only be accompanied by molecular chain growth, but also increase the crosslinking density and further improve the physical and mechanical properties of vulcanized rubber. Therefore, by choosing different vinyl silicone oils, LSRs with different properties can be obtained, and their uses are also different.
