There are many types of methyl silicone oils, but they must have active functional groups to be used as ink substrates, such as vinyl silicone oils, because only in this way can they be cured and bonded under the action of a catalyst. Simple simethicone has no cohesiveness and the cured product has basically no strength. Hydroxy silicone oil can be used as the base material of ink, but it should only be used in water-based ink, because hydroxy silicone oil will produce water molecules after condensation. Water-soluble silicone oil is only used as an additive for ink.
