Designed for the demanding world of precision sealing and complex injection-molded components, the IOTA LSR 3055 A/B series delivers consistent quality and processing efficiency. As a two-part, addition-cure liquid silicone rubber, it combines a straightforward 1:1 mixing ratio with fast thermal curing, making it an ideal fit for high-volume manufacturing environments.
The series spans seven distinct hardness levels—from 10 to 70 Shore A—allowing engineers to tailor material properties to specific application needs. From high-elongation seals requiring over 800% stretch to robust parts with tear strengths up to 40 kN/m, the IOTA LSR 3055 portfolio covers a broad spectrum of mechanical requirements.
Processing is further enhanced by excellent mold release characteristics, reducing cycle times and improving part consistency. Each grade is formulated with carefully controlled viscosities, ensuring uniform flow and complete cavity filling even for parts with complex geometries or fine details. The platinum catalyst is contained solely in the A component, and users are advised to prevent contact with catalyst-inhibiting substances to maintain cure reliability.
To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to use only A and B components from the same batch and to mix thoroughly before transferring to the process container. The material is supplied in 200 kg drums per component and offers a 12-month shelf life when stored below 23°C. If used beyond the labeled expiration date, requalification through relevant performance testing is advised.
