Keep Your Components Safe from Oil Swelling – High Consistency Rubber Grades
Oil exposure is a common challenge for rubber parts. Without proper material selection, you risk leakage, loss of elasticity, and premature replacement. Mingyi Silicone offers a practical solution with our IOTA series oil-resistant HCR.
Available in four hardness levels – 40, 50, 60, and 70 Shore A – these grades provide flexibility and strength. Density ranges from 1.23 to 1.32 g/cm³, tensile strength from 3.5 to 5.5 MPa, and elongation from 700% to 250% as hardness increases. Tear strength is a reliable 15 kN/m for all types.
Performance in oil is key. After 70 hours in IRM903 oil at 150°C, the volume change is only 35-36%, and hardness drops just 16-18 points. Tensile strength decreases by 35%, and elongation by 20% – results that show excellent stability compared to standard silicone rubbers. This material also resists ASTM #1 oil effectively.
Common applications include seals, diaphragms, valve liners, and any molded part requiring oil resistance in engines, pumps, or hydraulic systems. The recommended cure uses 1% bis(2,4-dichlorobenzoyl) peroxide (50% active) at 175°C for 5 minutes at 15 MPa.
For manufacturers seeking durable, oil-resistant rubber with stable performance, Mingyi Silicone’s IOTA series is a dependable choice. Reach out for more data or a quotation.
