IOTA 3120: Methyl Phenyl Vinyl Silicone Rubber That Performs Where Others Fail
Operating under extreme conditions requires more than standard silicone rubber. The IOTA 3120 methyl phenyl vinyl silicone rubber is engineered for applications where low temperature flexibility, radiation resistance, and thermal stability are critical.
With a phenyl content adjustable between 5–40%, this raw gum retains flexibility down to -110°C, making it ideal for aerospace, electronic, and medical devices exposed to cryogenic environments. Its unique molecular structure, using D4 as a raw material, ensures uniform vinyl distribution along the side chains. This leads to higher crosslinking density, better rebound resilience, and improved physical-mechanical properties in the final vulcanizate.
Beyond cold performance, the IOTA 3120 offers excellent damping properties, low volatility, and odorless processing. It resists steam and radiation, supporting long-term storage stability and consistent output in demanding sealing, insulation, or medical tubing applications. Available in molecular weights from 400k to 800k, with vinyl either side chain or end-capped configurations, it adapts to your formulation goals.
Choose reliability when temperatures drop, radiation rises, or consistency matters.
