IOTA-8207* Series – Functional Silicone Fluids for Personal Care & Polymer Processing
The IOTA-8207* Series long-chain arylalkyl modified silicone oils from IOTA Corporation bring advanced silicone chemistry into personal care and industrial compounding applications. Designed as arylalkyl polysiloxanes, these light amber liquids combine moderate viscosity (1000–2100 mm²/s) with excellent spreadability, film-forming ability, and compatibility with various synthetic resins.
In personal care formulations, the IOTA-8207* Series enhances skin and hair products by providing smooth lubricity and improved spreading. The good barrier properties help retain moisture without leaving greasy residues. For hair care, these silicone oils contribute to better manageability and softness, making them suitable for conditioners, serums, and leave-on treatments.
For polymer compounders, IOTA-8207* fluids show good miscibility with synthetic resins. When added as processing aids, they improve the boundary lubricity of molded or extruded plastic parts. They also enhance the impact strength of polypropylene components, adding value to engineering plastic applications.
The product’s consistent physical properties–volatility ≤1% (150°C/3h), specific gravity 0.89–0.95, and refractive index options between 1.462 and 1.480–allow formulators to select the right grade for specific needs. IOTA-8207G offers the highest refractive index (1.475–1.480), suitable for transparent or gloss-sensitive systems.
Unlike traditional additives, these modified silicone oils do not interfere with secondary operations such as printing, painting, or stamping, even when used as release or surface treatment aids.
