Fast‑Curing, Low‑Viscosity Silicone for Nylon 66 Coating – IOTA M1740
Designed for high‑performance textile coatings, IOTA M1740 is a liquid silicone rubber that bonds directly to nylon 66 without extra adhesives. Typical uses include safety airbags, industrial building fabrics, and protective garments. It also suits sealing applications in the 3C electronics sector.
This silicone features low viscosity – around 45,000 to 53,000 mPa·s for each component at 25 °C, and about 52,000 mPa·s when mixed. The low viscosity ensures smooth pumping and automated metering, reducing maintenance and downtime. Thermal curing is fast: at 160 °C, T90 is below 25 seconds. At the same time, the mixed material offers a generous working window, allowing stable operation over extended periods.
After curing at 165 ± 2 °C for 300 seconds, the product shows solid physical properties. It achieves a tensile strength of 5.0 MPa, elongation of 350 %, and tear strength of 10 kN/m. Hardness is 35, and density is 1.07 g/cm³. The finished coating is light yellow and uniform.
The A and B components are packed in 200 kg drums and mixed in a 1:1 weight ratio. Unopened storage below 23 °C guarantees 12 months of shelf life. Labels indicate the best‑before date; beyond that period, retesting is recommended.
IOTA M1740 delivers a balanced combination of self‑adhesion, low viscosity, and fast curing – a practical choice for nylon 66 coating lines.
