Engineered for Fireproof Fabrics – IOTA M20-40T Addition-Cure Silicone Rubber
IOTA M20-40T is a low-viscosity addition-cure silicone rubber developed specifically for high-strength fire-resistant fabric applications. Its unique formulation offers excellent flowability, making it suitable for filling flame-retardant materials as well as dip coating and knife coating processes.
This product provides strong adhesion to glass fiber fabrics, ensuring durable and reliable coated composites. Even with its low viscosity, the cured material delivers solid mechanical performance, including a tensile strength of 3.5 MPa, elongation at break of 250%, and tear strength of 13 KN/m. The Shore A hardness is 40, offering a good balance between flexibility and toughness.
The two-component system is mixed at a weight ratio of A:B = 1:10. The mixed viscosity at 23°C is approximately 18,000 mPa·s. Part A is transparent with a viscosity of 1,000 mPa·s, while Part B is translucent or slightly yellowish at 25,000 mPa·s. After curing, the final product remains translucent.
A platinum catalyst is included in Part A. Users should avoid contact with substances that may interfere with the curing process. If color addition is required, it must be added to Part B first, mixed thoroughly, and then combined with Part A.
Packaging is available as 2 kg for Part A and 200 kg for Part B. When stored below 23°C in unopened containers, the product maintains stable performance for 12 months. IOTA M20-40T is a practical and dependable choice for fireproof fabric coating applications.
