Flame-Retardant Fabric Coating? This Silicone Means Business
When your fabric needs to resist flames, stick to glass fiber, and keep production simple – you need IOTA LSR 3M20-50. Designed for high-strength fire-blocking textiles, this addition-cure silicone rubber delivers where standard materials fall short.
Key advantages for manufacturers
Strong adhesion to fiberglass fabric – reduces delamination risks
Thixotropic behavior – ideal for knife coating and dip coating
Flame-retardant performance – suitable for protective applications
Platinum-cured system – consistent, clean, and reliable
Technical highlights
Mixed in a 1:1 weight ratio, the product has a viscosity of 85,500 mPa·s at 23°C – fluid enough for even coating, yet thixotropic enough to hold shape. After curing, you get:
Hardness: Shore A 50
Tensile strength: 5.5 MPa
Elongation at break: 250%
Tear strength: 16 KN/m
Easy to use, easy to integrate
Component A contains the platinum catalyst. To avoid cure inhibition, do not mix foreign substances into A. For color customization, add colorants to Component B only, then blend with A. This simple rule prevents “catalyst poisoning” and ensures full curing every time.
Storage & availability
Shelf life: 12 months below 23°C in original unopened containers. Supplied in 2 kg (A) and 200 kg (B) pails.
Whether you manufacture fire-resistant curtains, protective covers, or industrial textile composites, IOTA LSR 3M20-50 provides the mechanical strength and adhesion you can count on.
