Three Hardnesses, One Superior System – Choose Your Ideal FLSR3400 Grade
Not all fluorosilicone applications are the same, and the IOTA FLSR3400 series recognizes that by offering three distinct hardness grades in a single, proven platform. Whether you need a soft, flexible seal (FLSR3430, 28–30 Shore A), a medium-durometer gasket (FLSR3440, 39–40 Shore A), or a firm, wear-resistant component (FLSR3460, 59–62 Shore A), this product family delivers consistent quality and performance.
All grades share the same density (1.42 g/cm³), excellent oil swell (3 % in IRM903), fuel swell (23 % in Fuel C), and FAM B resistance (29 %). However, their mechanical profiles allow for tailored design. FLSR3430 offers the highest elongation (up to 370 % after primary cure) and a tensile strength of 10.3 MPa, making it ideal for low-pressure seals with complex cross-sections. FLSR3440 balances stiffness and flexibility with 10.5 MPa tensile and 360 % elongation, suitable for dynamic shaft seals and valve stems. FLSR3460 provides a stiffer response with 8 MPa tensile and 230 % elongation, perfect for high-load bushings and structural gaskets where creep resistance is essential.
Post-curing at 200 °C for 4 hours reduces compression set significantly across all grades: from 13 % to 5 % for the 3430 and 3440, and from 25 % to 7 % for the 3460. This post-cure step is recommended for critical applications requiring long-term sealing efficiency at elevated temperatures. The rebound resilience ranges from 40 % to 43 %, ensuring good dynamic response. With a straightforward 1:1 mix ratio and fast 120 °C/10 min primary cure, switching between grades requires no major process changes. Choose the hardness that fits your application, and trust IOTA’s proven quality. The FLSR3400 series – versatility without compromise.
