Engineered to Endure – Where Oil, Fuel, and Extreme Temperatures Meet
In high-performance sealing and damping applications, failure is not an option. The IOTA FLSR3400 Series addition-curing liquid fluorosilicone rubber is purpose-built for environments that demand uncompromised chemical resistance and thermal stability. Based on a platinum-catalyzed system, this material combines vinyl-terminated fluorosilicone polymers with hydride-functional crosslinkers, delivering a vulcanizate that maintains its mechanical integrity even after prolonged exposure to aggressive media.
Three standard grades—FLSR3430, FLSR3440, and FLSR3460—offer hardness ranges from 28 to 62 Shore A, allowing engineers to select the optimal balance between flexibility and load-bearing capacity. Tensile strengths remain above 7 MPa across all grades, while tear strength consistently reaches 12–13 kN/m, ensuring reliable performance in dynamic sealing interfaces. More importantly, the material exhibits outstanding oil resistance: after 168 hours in IRM903 oil at 150 °C, volume swell is only 3 %. In Fuel C at 60 °C, swell is limited to 23 %, and in FAM B at the same conditions, it stays at 29 %. These low swell values translate to dimensional stability and sustained clamping force, reducing maintenance intervals and extending service life.
The FLSR3400 series also excels in high-temperature environments. Post-curing at 200 °C for 4 hours significantly improves compression set resistance, with values dropping from 13 % to as low as 5 % for the 3430 and 3440 grades. This means your components retain their shape and sealing force even after extended thermal cycling. Whether you are designing automotive fuel system components, aerospace seals, or industrial chemical handling parts, this series offers the reliability you need. With a density of 1.42 g/cm³ and excellent rebound resilience (40–43 %), it also provides consistent dynamic response. Choose IOTA FLSR3400 – the material that endures where others degrade.
