1. High and low temperature resistance

Foam and silica gel have excellent mechanical system performance in high temperature (above 200°C) environments, and still have their own certain toughness and elasticity, and the glass transition temperature (Tg) can be as low as -70°C. Generally speaking, the working temperature of foamed silica gel is -100°C to 350°C, and can withstand instantaneous high temperature of thousands of degrees. It is often used in the production of high-temperature heat-resistant coatings in the aviation field.


2. High flame retardancy

Compared with polyurethane foam, foam silicone can well meet the requirements in terms of flame retardancy, its foam density is 0.08 ~ 0.15 g u002F cubic meter, and its service life can reach 2 ~ 4 times that of polyurethane foam. In addition, its comfort, foam density and environmental protection are also significantly better than polyurethane foam, and it is expected to replace traditional polyurethane foam in the aerospace, rail transit, and high-end automotive industries.



3. Electrical insulation

Silicone foam has good insulation, and the silicon dioxide formed after burning is still an insulating substance. In addition, silicone foam is not easy to scorch when the arc is discharged, because the number of carbon atoms in its economic structure is relatively small, and its reinforcing filler, white carbon black, is suitable for high-voltage working occasions.



4. Physiological inertia

The surface of the silicone foam is hydrophobic, so the physical properties are hardly reduced in a humid environment, and the adhesion is poor, which can play an isolation role. And its own environmental protection, non-toxic and tasteless, harmless to human health, which also caused its excellent physiological inertia. At the same time, it is also very superior in anti-aging.
